You are invited to join us for our 5th Annual Native Storytelling Conference! This year we are happy to host the Conference in the heart of downtown Ashland, at Pioneer Hall. Our featured Storyteller will be Esther Stutzman, esteemed Kalapuya traditional storyteller from the Kalapuya Tribe of our Southern Oregon region. We are honored to host Esther once again, as she brings stories and traditions of the local, regional people.

Saturday, November 20, doors open at Noon, Grand Entries at 1 and 6 p.m.
Free dinner at 5 p.m.

Powwow, Aztec Dancers, Native Games, traditional demonstrations, gambling, Pomo Dancers, Karuk stories, Purepecha Corn Festival, lots of food and fun!

Location: upstairs in the Stevenson Union of SOU--Rogue River Room.

Red Earth Descendants invites you to our annual Native Harvest Gathering, taking place on October 23. Anyone who would like to step up and help in some way is WELCOMED to do so! We always need more steppin' up! We're designing the Harvest Gathering around the creation of a Harvest Feast to take place on that day, October 23, at 4 p.m.. The Gathering will be hands-on workshop projects to create the meal we'll be serving for the Feast. We're encouraging people to bring things from their own gardens or other community gardens to prepare, cook and serve for the Feast.

Red Earth Descendants encourages our local community to come out and support Unete and all the amazing work they are doing for immigration reform in Southern Oregon. R.E.D. and Unete have joined hands in developing a non-profit brother~sister organization called "Natives of One Wind Indigenous Alliance (NOWIA).

In support of each other as Native groups from the North and South, we as R.E.D. want to lend our support and blessings for the outreach and education Unete offers our community. Please support Unete, become educated about immigration issues and reform!

Cesar Chavez Day Event

Unete is a volunteer-led movement of farmworkers and immigrants in rural Southern Oregon educating their community and advocating for worker rights, humane immigration policy, and full participation in the decision-making processes affecting their lives. Unete is the only Latino-led non-profit in the Rogue Valley.

Unete welcomes everyone to come celebrate Ceasar Chavez day and learn about the man who served his people and advocated for their rights. Whistling Elk Drum has been invited and we will be here!

Solstice Storytelling Conference

Red Earth Descendants will host our fourth annual Native Storytelling Conference. You are invited to enjoy a day of traditional storytelling and teachings from Native people in our region. We are honored to have a featured storyteller this year from the Kalapuya people, Esther Stutzman. We will begin at Noon, Feast at 5 p.m. and then enjoy an evening session. Also included in the day is a 10 a.m. Women's Community Meeting (if you plan to attend the Women's Meeting, PLEASE plan to arrive by 9:45 a.m.

NASU Native Cultural Sharing and Powwow
