Welcome to Indigenous Permaculture & Water Sequestration - Hands On Workshop!
Join the Turtle Island Permaculture Institute (TIPI) and the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy (SOLC) for a day of learning and fun. This workshop will dive deep into the importance of water sequestration in our region. Get your hands dirty and learn practical techniques to improve soil and ecosystem health.
No experience is necessary! Please wear sturdy pants, long sleeves, and close-toes shoes. Dress for the weather, bring layers. We will be working in a sloped pasture. We will provide gloves, digging tools, refreshments, and LUNCH!
When: Saturday November 21st from 10:00AM-4:00PM
Price: This workshop is being offered with a $45 tax-deductible suggested donation to Red Earth Descendants. No one will be turned away for inability to pay, and you are welcome to gift more! Visit https://www.redearthdescendants.org/donate to learn about RED and make your donation.
Key Learnings:
Learn about water sequestration techniques that can promote plant health and reduce the impacts of drought
Discover native plants and seeds as well as local programs you can get involved in to access and protect them
Meet local experts who can assist with your projects
Integrate these learnings with important information about the local Native history and current efforts being made to recognize rights of nature, healing the divide between humans and our natural ecosystems
"Dig In" to hands-on activities which may include digging johads, planting trees, and more! There will be plenty to learn and plenty to do
